Zovirax cold sore cream (Acyclovir) is a prescription medication used to treat cold sores or fever blisters (herpes labialis). Cold sores are a common viral infection. They are tiny, fluid-filled blisters that form on and around the lips. These blisters are often grouped in patches, and after they break, they form a scab that can last several days. The active ingredient in Zovirax cold sore cream is Acyclovir. Acyclovir belongs to a class of drugs called antivirals. It works by stopping the growth of the virus.
