Xalacom (Latanoprost/Timolol) is a prescription medication that is used to lower raised pressure in the eye and to treat glaucoma. Latanoprost belongs to a class of medications called prostaglandin analogs. It works by reducing the pressure in the eye by allowing fluid in the eye to flow better. Timolol belongs to a class of medications called beta-adrenergic receptor blockers also known as beta-blockers. It works by reducing the production of fluid in the eye which lowers the pressure in the eye. Xalacom is a combination medication that is used by people with chronic open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension who do not respond well to treatment with only one medication.

Canadian Pharmacy King is currently offering the brand Xalacom eye drops from Canada manufactured by Pfizer. The generic Latanoprost/Timolol is available from Canada manufactured by a different manufacturer. This medication is available in the strength of 50 mcg/ml/5 mg/ml/2.5 ml vial.
Xalacom should be stored in its original packaging in a
refrigerator (2° C - 8°C) protected from light.
After opening Xalacom, keep the bottle in its box in a cool place where the temperature stays below 25°C but
do not refrigerate.
The common side effects may include dry mouth and eye, feeling of something in the eye, headache, itching eyes, redness of the eyelid, temporary blurred vision after putting in the eye drop, temporary eye redness and watery eye.
Stop using Xalacom and talk to your doctor right away if you have any of the following side effects such as:
• Eye swelling, redness, severe discomfort, crusting or drainage;
• Increased sensitivity to light;
• Red swollen or itchy eyelids;
• Severe burning, stinging or irritation

You should not use Xalacom if you are allergic to Latanoprost or Timolol or if you have any other allergies. Before you start taking this medication, talk to your doctor about your medical history and about all the medications you take including OTC and herbal medications. Contact lenses should be removed before the Xalacom eye drops are applied and can be reinserted after 15 minutes of application. If you have diabetes and are using Xalacom, if may be absorbed into the bloodstream and it may affect your blood sugar. This medication may cause drowsiness and temporary blurring of vision. You should not drive, use machinery or do any activity that requires you to be alert. Xalacom should not be used during pregnancy unless the benefits outweigh the risks. This medication passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breast-feeding a baby.
