Winlevi (Clascoterone) is a prescription medication used to treat acne vulgaris. Acne vulgaris forms comedones, papules, pustules, nodules, or cysts due to obstruction and inflammation of hair follicles and their accompanying sebaceous gland. The active ingredient in Winlevi is Clascoterone. Clascoterone belongs to a class of drugs called androgen receptor inhibitors. It works by blocking androgen receptors in the sebaceous glands and hair follicles. This helps to reduce sebum production and inflammation, improving acne.
