Vyndamax (Tafamidis) is a prescription medication used to treat transthyretin-mediated amyloidosis, a certain type of heart failure. Transthyretin-mediated amyloidosis is a rare, progressive disease that occurs when the transthyretin protein in the liver misfolds, and forms clumps that deposit in organs and tissues. The drug is used to prevent heart failure from worsening and reduce the risk of hospitalizations. The active ingredient in Vyndamax is Tafamidis. Tafamidis belongs to a class of medications called transthyretin stabilizers. It works by slowing the buildup of amyloid fibrils, a protein that causes heart problems.

Use this medicine exactly as your doctor prescribes. Vyndamax is a capsule. Take the capsule whole. Do not crush or open it. You can take this drug with or without food. Take this drug at the same time each day to help you remember. Do not start, stop, or change your dosage without talking to your doctor. Vyndamax may interfere with certain lab tests, such as thyroid tests. Inform your doctor that you use this medicine before taking a lab test. Tafamidis controls transthyretin-mediated amyloidosis. It does not cure it. Do not stop taking this drug without talking to your doctor. Store this drug at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
