Veregen (Sinecatechins) is a topical prescription used for the treatment of external genital and perianal warts (EGW). The active ingredient is Sinecatechins derived from green tea leaves. The mechanism of action is not known yet. It does not cure genital or anal warts, but it may help the infection clear faster. Genital warts are caused by Human Papillomavirus (HPV) that is transmitted through sexual activity. Veregen topical is for use only on the skin, outside the genitals and around the outside of the anus.
