Veltin gel (Clindamycin Phosphate/Tretinoin) is a medication used to treat acne in people over the age of 12 years old. It helps decrease the severity of acne pimples and helps pimples heal quickly. This medication is a combination medication that contains tretinoin, and clindamycin. Tretinoin belongs to a class of drugs known as retinoids, which is a form of Vitamin A. It reduces the amount of oil released by oil glands in your skin, and helps your skin renew itself more quickly. Clindamycin belongs to a class of drugs known as antibiotics; it helps stop the growth of bacteria that causes acne.

We currently offer the brand Veltin from Canada also called Biacna Topical Gel manufactured by Bausch Health and from India also called Retino AC Gel by Johnson & Johnson.
Seek emergency medical help if you have any signs of an allergic reaction to this medication. The common side effects of Veltin may include mild skin irritation, dryness or peeling, skin redness, and itching of treated skin.
Stop using this medication and contact your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur:
• Diarrhea that is watery or bloody;
• Severe burning/swelling of the skin, redness, or scaling of treated skin areas

Do not use Veltin gel if you are allergic to Clindamycin or Tretinoin, or if you are taking erythromycin or are using other skin medications that contain erythromycin or if you have:
• Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis;
• Ever had severe diarrhea caused by antibiotics;
• Inflammation of your intestines
Prior to taking this medication, tell your doctors about your medical history and if you have:
• A history of stomach or intestinal disorders;
• Any other allergies
Do not wash treated skin or apply other skin products for at least one hour after applying Veltin gel. Avoid using other medications on the areas you treat with Veltin gel. This medication may make you more sensitive to the sun. Limit your time in the sun. Avoid electrolysis, waxing, and chemical depilatories for hair removal on the treated areas while using this product. Tell your doctor about all the medications you take including prescription, nonprescription, herbal products, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Veltin and other medications. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Veltin gel should not be used on a child younger than 12 years old.
