Vectical (Calcitriol) is a prescription medication used to treat mild to moderate plaque psoriasis. Psoriasis is a skin disease that causes a rash with itchy, scaly patches. This condition is most common on the knees, elbows, trunk, and scalp. The active ingredient in Vectical is Calcitriol. Calcitriol belongs to a class of drugs called vitamin D analogs. It works by stopping the production of extra skin cells that may build up and form scales on the skin. Vectical is not for treating severe forms of psoriasis present with pus, skin peeling, or severe redness.
