Uceris (Budesonide Extended Release, Budesonide ER) is prescription medication used to treat ulcerative colitis (UC). Budesonide is a corticosteroid that works by reducing inflammation in the body. Take Uceris exactly prescribed. Budesonide is also available in 3 mg dosage called Entocort EC.

The most common side effects of Uceris include:
• Acne;
• Cold or flu like symptoms;
• Headache;
• Nausea;
• Vomiting.

If you suffer any serious side effects as below, please notify your doctor or pharmacist immediately:
• Easily bruising;
• Mental or mood changes;
• Signs of infection such as cough, chill, fever, sore throat;
• Stretch marks;
• Swelling;
• Unusual tiredness;
• Vision changes.

Do not use Uceris if you are allergic to or Budesonide or any other ingredients in this medication. Tell your doctor about all the medical conditions you have had before, especially if you have:
• Allergies;
• Chicken pox or measles;
• Depression;
• Diabetes;
• Glaucoma;
• High blood pressure;
• Infections or you are sick;
• Intestinal problems;
• Tuberculosis;
• Weak immune system

Tell your doctor about all the medicines you are taking including prescriptions and over-the-counter medicines including herbal supplements, especially: blood thinners, NSAIDs drugs, other steroids or drugs that can weaken the immune system. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
