Toloxin (Digoxin) is used to treat congestive heart failure and certain types of abnormal heart rhythms. This medication helps to maintain a normal heart rhythm in patients with atrial fibrillation and it reduces the symptoms of congestive heart failure by helping to increase the strength of the heart so that it pumps more efficiently. Digoxin is normally taken once a day at the same time each day.

There may be an interaction between digoxin and other medications such as amiodarone, antacids, beta-blockers, calcium, cyclosporine, intraconazole, levothyroxine, etc. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast- feeding or planning to become pregnant while using this medication. Digoxin can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. Do not take this medication without consulting your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.
