Tecta (Pantoprazole Magnesium) is used to treat certain stomach and esophagus issues such as duodenal ulcer, gastric ulcer, reflux esophagitis, symptoms of reflux and duodenal ulcers associated with infection by H. pylori. Pantoprazole Magnesium belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors. It works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach makes. This medication relieves symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, and persistent cough. It also helps heal acid damage to the stomach and esophagus; helps prevent ulcers, and may help prevent cancer of the esophagus.

We offer the brand Tecta from Canada by Takeda. The generic Pantoprazole Sodium also comes from Canada by a different manufacturer.
Seek emergency medical help if you have any signs of an allergic reaction to Tecta. The common side effects may include headaches, and diarrhea.
Contact your doctor immediately if you have any of these serious side effects:
• Symptoms of a low magnesium level;
• Signs of lupus;
• Severe stomach pain or diarrhea;
• Fever;
• Blood/mucus in your stool

Prior to taking this medication, tell your doctor if you are allergic to Pantoprazole, or any other similar medications such as lansoprazole, or omeprazole. Also inform your doctor of your medical history, especially of liver disease, and lupus. Tell your doctor about all the medications you take including prescription, nonprescription, herbal products, and vitamins. There may be drug interactions with Pantoprazole Magnesium and other medications or products. One product that may interact with this medication is Methotrexate. Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant. This medication passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
