Tear Gel is an over-the-counter medication used to relieve dry eyes. Dry eyes may occur due to exposure to the wind, sun, heating, air conditioning, computer use, reading, and certain medications. Tear Gel belongs to a class of medications called eye lubricants. It works by spreading rapidly over the conjunctiva and cornea, forming a protective film and decreasing the symptoms of dry eyes.

Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be drug interactions between the Tear Gel and other medicines, like other eye medications. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Tear Gel is not expected to pass into breast milk or to harm your nursing infant. Use this medicine exactly as your doctor prescribes. Tear Gel comes as an eye gel. Use this medication in the eyes only. Please do not take it by mouth. Do not use a solution that has changed color or is cloudy. Before applying the gel, wash your hands first. Please do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any other surface to avoid contamination. Always replace the cap tightly after each use. Tilt your head back, look up, and pull down the lower eyelid to make a pouch. Place the dropper directly over the eye and squeeze 1 or 2 drops as needed. Look down and gently close your eyes for 1 or 2 minutes. Place one finger at the corner of the eye near the nose and apply gentle pressure. This will prevent the medication from draining away from the eye. If you are using other eye medications, wait at least 5 minutes before applying other medications. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before using Tear Gel. This medication can blur your vision. Wait several minutes for your vision to clear before driving or using machinery. Inform your doctor if your condition persists after 3 days. Store this drug at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
