Systane (Eye Care Products) is an over-the-counter medication used to relieve the symptoms of dry eyes in adults. Dry eyes can cause burning, irritation, and discomfort. Common causes of dry eyes include wind, sun, heating, computer use, reading, and some medications. Systane belongs to a class of medications called Eye Care Products. Eye Care Products work by keeping the eye moist, helping to protect the eye from injury and infection, and decreasing the symptoms of dry eyes, such as burning, itching, and feeling as if something is in the eye.
