Syringe and Needle is an over-the-counter device used to inject drugs into the body. Depending on the injection site, the syringe holds the liquid medication while the hollow needle pierces the skin to deliver the medicine directly into the bloodstream or muscle tissue.

Manufacturer Information

We currently offer the brand Syringe and Needle from Canada manufactured by Becton Dickson in the strength of 1 cc and 3 cc syringes and needles. The generic version is not available.

BD Syringe and Needle are sold as singles. They come in two volumes, 3cc and 5cc. Depending on the length you choose, you might also be able to choose the needle thickness, also called the "gauge." The higher the gauge, the thinner the needle. For example, a 23 gauge needle is thinner than a 21 gauge needle. The needle length and gauge has been abbreviated as 23 G x 1'1/2'' (this would mean this particular needle is one and one-half inches long with a 23 gauge needle).

We will not accept returns or exhchanges on this particular product for safety reasons.

• Are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed;
• Are pregnant or planning to become pregnant;
• Have allergies to medications;
• Have an infection at the potential injection site;
• Have bleeding disorders

Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be drug interactions between the Syringe and Needle and other medicines. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Getting certain injections during pregnancy is not expected to harm an unborn baby. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed. Getting injections while breastfeeding is not expected to harm your nursing infant. Use this device exactly as your doctor directs. Needles and syringes come in different sizes; some are better suited for certain uses than others. Having the correct needle and syringe helps ensure you get the correct amount of your medication. It may also make injections easier and less painful. The right needle size for your injections depends on how much medication you need, your body size, and whether the drug has to go into a muscle or under the skin. Your syringe must also be big enough to hold the right dose but not so big that it makes measuring small amounts difficult. To prepare and fill the syringe, remove the needle cover and insert the needle into the medicine vial. Turn the vial upside down with the syringe needle inside. Gently pull back on the syringe plunger until filled with the correct amount. After filling, remove the syringe and check for air bubbles by tapping on the side. Fill in more if necessary. After use, safely dispose of the needle and syringe. Syringes and needles should never be thrown away in regular garbage disposal. A sharps container is the best method for getting rid of used injection devices. Store this device at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep them in a dedicated “sharps” container. Keep out of reach of children.
