Get medical help immediately if you have any of these signs or an allergic reaction while taking Synalar. The most common side effects of Synalar may include the following:
• Burning;
• Dryness;
• Irritation;
• Itching;
• Peeling;
• Redness at application site;
• Stinging
Contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects, including:
• Blisters;
• Breathing difficulties;
• Changes in the color of treated skin;
• Dizziness;
• Pimples;
• Skin rash;
• Skin thinning or softening;
• Stretch marks;
• Swollen hair follicles
These are not all of the side effects of Fluocinolone. Always contact your doctor if you notice any unusual symptoms.
You should not take Synalar if you are allergic to Fluocinolone or any ingredient in Synalar. Before you start taking this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, especially if you:
• Are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed;
• Are pregnant or plan to be pregnant;
• Have acne or rosacea;
• Have adrenal gland disorder;
• Have areas of infected skin;
• Have diabetes;
• Have immune system problems;
• Have liver disease;
• Have or have had any skin infection;
• Have poor blood circulation;
• Have skin reaction to steroid medicine
Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be drug interactions between Synalar and other medicines, including prednisone, hydrocortisone, and cyclosporine. Do not apply Synalar on children without medical advice. Tell your doctor immediately if you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant. You should not become pregnant while using Fluocinolone. Fluocinolone should only be used if the benefits outweigh the risks. It is not known if Synalar passes into breast milk. Do not breastfeed during treatment. Use Fluocinolone as prescribed by your doctor. The drug is for external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes. Do not use Synalar for any disorder other than what it was prescribed for by your dermatologist. Do not bandage, cover, or wrap the skin area after applying this medication. Contact your doctor if your symptoms do not improve within 7 to 14 days. Do not use topical corticosteroids like Fluocinolone for long periods to prevent thinning of the skin. Wash your hands after applying Synalar unless your hands are in the treated areas. Keep Fluocinolone out of reach and sight of children. Store this drug between 15-250C (59-770F).
