Steglatro (Ertugliflozin) is an oral diabetes medication that helps control blood sugar levels. Ertugliflozin works by helping the kidneys get rid of glucose from your bloodstream. It is combined with a proper diet and exercise program to control high blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. Steglatro belongs to a group of drugs called sodium glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors. Ertugliflozin works by increasing the removal of sugar by your kidneys. You may be able to prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs and sexual function problems by controlling high blood sugar.
