Skelid (Tiludronate) is a prescription medication used to treat Paget's disease of the bone. Paget's disease is a bone disease in which bone resorption and formation happen too quickly, resulting in the formation of new bone that is weaker than expected. The affected bone may become enlarged and can be painful. The active ingredient in Skelid is Tiludronate. Tiludronate belongs to the group of medications called Calcium Metabolism Modifiers, Bisphosphonate Derivatives. It works by preventing bone breakdown and increasing bone density (thickness).
