Revolution Plus (Selamectin/Sarolaner) is a prescription medication used to prevent heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis in cats and kittens. The drug also kills adult fleas and prevents flea infestations. Revolution Plus also treats and controls ear mite and tick infestations and roundworm and intestinal hookworm infections in cats. Revolution Plus is a combination medicine. The active ingredients in Revolution Plus are Selamectin and Sarolaner. Selamectin belongs to a class of drugs called semisynthetic avermectin. It works by paralyzing and killing parasites. Sarolaner belongs to a class of medications called ectoparasiticide. It works by killing parasites present on the skin or in the fur of animals. Revolution Plus is safe for cats as young as 8 weeks old.

We currently offer the brand Revolution Plus from Australia in the strength of 15mg/2.5mg/3 tab for small cats, 30mg/5mg/3 tab for medium cats, and 60mg/10mg/3 tab for large cats (5.1 KG - 10 KG). The generic equivalent is not available.
Get medical help immediately if your cat has any of these signs or an allergic reaction while using Revolution Plus. The most common side effects of Revolution Plus may include the following:
• Appetite loss;
• Drowsiness;
• Slightly powdery residue at the application site
Contact your veterinarian right away if your cat has any of the severe side effects, including:
• Signs of an allergic reaction, including itching skin, coughing, sneezing, wheezing;
• Worsening of your cat symptoms
These are not all of the side effects of Revolution Plus. Always contact your veterinarian if you notice any unusual symptoms in your cat.
You should not use Revolution Plus for your pet if it is allergic to Selamectin, Sarolaner, or any ingredient in Revolution Plus. Before you start using this medication, tell your veterinarian about your cat’s medical history, especially if your cat:
• Is lactating;
• Is less than 8 weeks old;
• Is pregnant or breeding;
• Weighs less than 2.8lbs
Tell your veterinarian about all your pet’s medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be drug interactions between Revolution Plus and other medications. Tell your veterinarian if your cat is pregnant or breeding. It is unknown if Revolution Plus is safe for pregnant or breeding cats. Inform your veterinarian if your cat is breastfeeding. The safety of Selamectin/Sarolaner in lactating cats is not known. Use Revolution Plus precisely as prescribed by your veterinarian. Your veterinarian will demonstrate how to use Revolution Plus topically to your cats and kittens before first use. This drug comes in a tube. Firmly press the cap down to puncture the seal on the drug. Remove the cap and check to ensure the tube tip is open. Part the hair on the back of your pet at the base of the neck in front of the shoulder blades until the skin is visible. Place the Revolution Plus tube tip on the skin and squeeze the tube 3 or 4 times to empty its entire contents directly on the skin in one spot. Keeping the tube squeezed, drag it away from the liquid and lift it to remove. Check the tube to ensure it is empty. Do not massage the product into your pet’s skin. Revolution Plus contains alcohol. Do not apply to broken skin. Wash your hands after use and immediately wash any product that comes in contact with your skin with soap and water. Revolution Plus may causes reactions like hives, itching, and skin redness when it comes in contact with humans. Avoid contact with the eyes. If this happens, wash your eyes with water and seek medical attention. Revolution Plus is flammable. Keep away from heat, and open flames. Store at or below 300C and away from the reach of children.
