Revolution (Selamectin) is a prescription medication used to treat and prevent heartworm disease, fleas, ear mites, canine sarcoptic mange, and the American dog tick in dogs. This drug treats and prevents fleas, ear mites, hookworm, roundworm, and heartworm disease. The active ingredient in Revolution is Selamectin. Selamectin belongs to a class of drugs called topical parasiticide and antihelminthic. It works by entering your pet's bloodstream through the skin to kill internal parasites by paralyzing their central nervous system. It also redistributes itself back to the skin to kill external parasites like fleas, mites, and ticks.
