Revia (Naltrexone) is a prescription medication that is used to help individuals who are addicted to drugs or alcohol. It is used as part of a complete treatment program. It helps decrease the desire to take drugs and drink alcohol with counselling, support and a few lifestyle changes. Naltrexone is a narcotic antagonist. It works in the brain to prevent opiate effects. It also decreases the desire to take opiates.

The common side effects may include anxiety, dizziness, headache, nausea, tiredness and trouble sleeping. There are sudden opiate withdrawal symptoms that can occur within minutes after taking Naltrexone such as:
• Abdominal cramps;
• Anxiety;
• Confusion;
• Diarrhea;
• Extreme sleepiness;
• Joint/bone/muscle aches;
• Mental or mood changes;
• Nausea/vomiting;
• Runny nose;
• Visual hallucinations
You should not take Revia if you are allergic to Naltrexone or if you have any other allergies.
