Reminyl (Galantamine) is a prescription medication used to treat mild to moderate dementia related to Alzheimer’s disease. This medication does not cure Alzheimer’s disease but it may improve memory, awareness and the ability to perform activities of daily living. Galantamine belongs to a class of drugs called cholinesterase inhibitors. It works by restoring the balance of acetylcholine in the brain. This medication is taken with food usually twice daily or as directed by your doctor.

Limit alcoholic beverages. This medication should not be used during pregnancy unless it is clearly needed. It is unknown if this medication passes into breast milk.
