Relafen (Nabumetone) is a prescription medication used to relieve symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune and inflammatory disease that attacks the joints. This condition occurs when your immune system attacks healthy cells in your body by mistake, causing inflammation. Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease and is the most common form of arthritis. The active ingredient in Relafen is Nabumetone. Nabumetone belongs to a class of drugs called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body.
