Pramasone is a combination of Hydrocortisone (a corticosteroid) and Pramoxine (a anesthetic). This medication is used to decrease swelling, itching and pain caused by minor skin irritations or hemorrhoids. Pramasone is used for the treatment of a variety of skin conditions such as insect bites, poison oak or ivy, eczema, dermatitis, allergies, rash, itching of the outer female genitals and anal itching.

Pramosone is available from Canada manufactured by Dermatech. It is available in the strength of 1%/1%/120ml lotion and 1%/1%/45 gm cream. There is no generic available for this medication.
The common side effects may include:
• Acne;
• Burning;
• Dryness;
• Redness at the application site;
• Skin thinning or discoloration;
• Stinging;
• Stretch marks;
• Unusual hair growth
Many people using this medication do not have any serious side effects. If the treated area starts bleeding, please contact your doctor right away.
You should not use Pramasone if you are allergic to Pramoxine or Hydrocortisone or if you have any other allergies. Before you start taking this medication, talk to your doctor about your medical history and about all the medications you take including OTC and herbal medications. You should not use this medication if there is an infection or sore in the area to be treated. Children may be more sensitive to the effects of too much corticosteroid medication. Pramasone should only be used during pregnancy unless it is clearly needed. It is unknown whether this medication passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breastfeeding a baby.
