Pennsaid (Diclofenac Topical 2% solution) is used to treat pain in the knees caused by osteoarthritis. Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by reducing substances in the body that cause pain and inflammation. This medication should not be used for more than 3 months.

Our Canadian Pharmacy currently offers the brand Pennsaid from Canada manufactured by Dimethaid. The generic Diclofenac topical solution comes from Canada manufactured by a different manufacturer. Pennsaid is available in the strength of 1.5%/60 ml topical solution.
The common side effects may include skin irritation such as dryness, flaking, itching and redness.
Inform your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Kidney problems;
• Symptoms of heart failure

You should not use Diclofenac if you are allergic to Pennsaid or to aspirin or other NSAIDS. This medication may cause stomach bleeding. Daily use of alcohol and tobacco may increase your risk. Limit alcohol and stop smoking. This medication may make more sensitive to the sun. Limit your time in the sun and avoid tanning booths and sunlamps. Use sunscreen when you go out. This medication should not be used during pregnancy unless it is clearly needed. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is unknown if this form of Diclofenac passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breast-feeding.
