Ozonol Ointment (Phenol and Zinc Oxide) is a topical medication used to provide immediate relief to minor skin wounds and irritations, such as scrapes, minor burns, skin irritations, insect bites, chafing, and chapping. Ozonol Antibiotic Ointment is used to provide relief to minor skin wounds and irritations, as well as to help prevent infection of these wounds. Ozonol Ointment belongs to a class of medications called topical anesthetics. The active ingredients in Ozonol Ointment, phenol and zinc oxide, work together to soothe irritation and reduce pain. Phenol also has antiseptic properties, which helps to protect the wound from infection. Ozonol Antibiotic Ointment also works to soothe irritation and reduce pain. It also contains polymyxin B, which is an antibiotic that works by disrupting both the inner and outer membranes of bacterial cells, preventing replication and causing death of the cells.

Ozonol Ointment is not expected to cause any side effects. If you experience any side effects that worsen or do not go away, contact your doctor. Seek emergency medical attention if you have any signs of an allergic reaction such as:

Do not use if the foil seal at the mouth of the tube is broken or missing. Do not use Ozonol Ointment on deep wounds, puncture wounds, animal bites, or serious burns. Store at room temperature. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Ozonol Ointment is not expected to interact with any other medications. Regardless, tell your doctor about any medications, vitamins, or herbal supplements you are currently taking or have recently taken in order to reduce the risk of any possible interactions.
