Ostenil is a pre-filled syringe and should be injected directly into the joint affected by osteoarthritis. Ostenil should be administered by a medical doctor inside the hospital. It should be given once weekly for at least three weeks. You may not feel the effect of this medication immediately. However, you should notice a reduction in pain and stiffness over the following few weeks, likely to continue for several months. Contact your doctor if you notice swelling or bleeding from the injection site. Do not miss your clinic appointment. Discuss with your doctor if your condition last or worsen. You may have a repeat of your injection if there is no improvement in your condition.
