Osphena (Ospemifene) is a Non-estrogen prescription medication used to treat painful sexual intercourse in women after menopause. Ospemifene belongs to a class of drugs known as selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERM). This medication works by acting like estrogen in the lining of the uterus, but can work differently in other parts of the body. This is an oral pill that improves certain vaginal tissue and significantly relieves painful intercourse due to menopause.

• Chest pain, rapid breathing;
• Confusion;
• Feeling dizzy, fainting;
• Slurred speech;
• Severe headaches;
• Stroke;
• Trouble breathing
You should not use Osphena if you are allergic to Ospemifene or if you have any other allergies. Before you take this medication, inform your doctor about your medical condition and about the medications you are currently taking including OTC and herbal medications. You should not use Osphena together with estrogens, such as birth control pills or hormone replacement medications. Osphena may increase your chance of getting strokes and blood clots. This medication must not be used during pregnancy. It may harm an unborn baby. It is unknown if this medication passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breast-feeding.
