Ondissolve (Ondansetron) is an orally disintegrating film used for the prevention of nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy. It is also used to prevent and treat post-operative nausea and vomiting. Ondansetron belongs to a class of medications called serotonin 5-HT3 receptor antagonists. Ondansetron works by blocking serotonin receptors that are found in the brain and gut, which prevents nausea, retching and vomiting.

We currently have the Ondissolve from Canada manufactured by Takeda. It is available in the strength of 4mg and 8mg.
Common side effects are headache, flushing or sensation of warmth, constipation.
Rare side effects include:
• Chest pain;
• Hiccups;
• Involuntary movements;
• Irregular heartbeats;
• Low blood pressure;
• Seizures;
• Slow heart rate
Do not take it if you are allergic to Ondansetron or any of the ingredients in Ondissolve medication. Before you take this medication, talk to your doctor about the medications you are currently taking including OTC and herbal medications. Ondansetron should not be used in combination with apomorphine (used to treat Parkinson’s disease). This medication is not recommended for pregnant women or nursing mothers.
