Nurtec ODT (Rimegepant) is a prescription medication used to prevent or treat migraine. The drug also relieves migraine symptoms, including headache, nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light or sound. It also prevents episodic migraines from happening. The active ingredient in Nurtec ODT is Rimegepant. Rimegepant belongs to a class of medications called calcitonin gene-related peptide receptor antagonists. It works by blocking the action of the natural substance that causes migraine in the body.

Get medical help immediately if you have any signs or an allergic reaction while taking Nurtec ODT. The most common side effects of Nurtec ODT may include the following:
• Indigestion;
• Nausea;
• Stomach pain
Contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects, including:
• Breathing difficulties;
• Hives;
• Itching and swelling in the face, throat, or tongue;
• Rash;
• Severe dizziness
These are not all of the side effects of Rimegepant. Always contact your doctor if you notice any unusual symptoms.
You should not take Nurtec ODT if you are allergic to Rimegepant or any ingredient in Nurtec ODT. Before you start taking this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, especially if you:
• Are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed;
• Are pregnant or plan to become pregnant;
• Have kidney disease;
• Have liver disease
Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be drug interactions between Nurtec ODT and other medicines, including ketoconazole, nelfinavir, ritonavir, erythromycin, and imatinib. Nurtec ODT is not recommended for children and adolescents below 18 years old. Tell your doctor immediately if you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant. It is not known if Rimegepant will harm the unborn baby. Nurtec ODT passes into breast milk in small amounts. Talk to your doctor to know the best way to feed your baby. Take Nurtec ODT exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The drug is an orally disintegrating tablet. Ensure your hands are dry when opening the blister pack. Peel the foil covering one blister and gently remove the drug. Do not push Rimegepant through the foil. The drug will dissolve once you place it on your tongue. You don’t need water to take Nurtec ODT. Store Rimegepant in its original blister package out of reach and sight of children. Keep this drug at room temperature 20-250C (68 -860F).
