Norpace (Disopyramide) is a prescription medication used to treat life-threatening irregular heartbeat patterns. Symptoms of irregular heartbeat include palpitations, dizziness, shortness of breath, fatigue, and chest pain. Treating irregular heartbeat decreases blood clots and reduces the risk of heart attack or stroke. The drug restores normal heart rhythm and maintains a steady, regular heartbeat. It can also help to stop unusual heartbeats after a heart attack. The active ingredient in Norpace is Disopyramide. Disopyramide belongs to a class of drugs called anti-arrhythmic medications. It works by blocking certain electrical signals that cause irregular heartbeat in the heart.
