NexGard Combo (Esafoxolaner/Eprinomectin/Praziquantel) is a prescription medication used to prevent heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis in cats. The drug is also used to treat and control roundworm, hookworm, and tapeworm infections. NexGard Combo also kills adult fleas and is used to treat and prevent flea infestations. The medicine is also used to treat and control black-legged tick and lone star tick infestations for one month in cats and kittens at least 8 weeks old and weighing at least 1.8 lbs. NexGard Combo is a combination medicine. The active ingredients in NexGard Combo are Esafoxolaner, Eprinomectin, and Praziquantel. Esafoxolaner belongs to a class of drugs called isoxazoline insecticides. Eprinomectin belongs to a class of medications called avermectin insecticides. Praziquantel belongs to a class of drugs called antihelmintics. They work by paralyzing and killing the parasites. Some of these worms are then passed in stool.

Get medical help immediately if your cat has any of these signs or an allergic reaction while using NexGard Combo. The most common side effects of NexGard Combo may include the following:
• Appetite loss;
• Diarrhea;
• Lethargy;
• Skin reaction at the reaction site;
• Vomiting

Contact your veterinarian right away if your cat has any of the severe side effects, including:
• Hypersalivation;
• Signs of seizures, including uncontrolled movements, loss of consciousness, excessive drooling, disorientation, etc.

These are not all of the side effects of NexGard Combo. Always contact your veterinarian if you notice any unusual symptoms.

You should not give your cat NexGard Combo if it is allergic to Esafoxolaner, Eprinomectin, Praziquantel, or any ingredient in NexGard Combo. Before you start administering this medication, tell your veterinarian about your cat's medical history, especially if it:
• Has a history of seizures;
• Has neurologic disorders;
• Is lactating;
• Is pregnant or breeding

Tell your veterinarian about all your cat's medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be drug interactions between the NexGard Combo and other medicines. Tell your veterinarian if your cat is pregnant or breeding. It is unknown if NexGard Combo will harm a pregnant or breeding cat. Discuss the benefits and risks of administering this drug to a pregnant or breeding cat with your veterinarian. Inform your veterinarian if your cat is lactating. It is unknown if NexGard Combo passes into breast milk or if it may harm a lactating cat or nursing puppy. Administer this medicine exactly as your veterinarian prescribes. NexGard Combo comes as a suspension.

Apply the applicator's entire content topically once a month. Do not give your cat this medicine by mouth (orally). Your cat's dose and dosing schedule will be based on its weight. Your veterinarian will show you the appropriate technique for topically applying NexGard Combo to your cats and kittens. Part the hair on the neck's midline, between the skull's base and shoulder blades, until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the applicator on the skin and apply the contents of the medicine directly onto the skin in one spot. NexGard Combo should be applied to dry skin on an area where the cat cannot lick it off. If the cat's weight requires a second application, apply the contents the same way and in the exact location. For heartworm disease prevention, apply once monthly for at least three months after the last mosquito exposure. For flea and tick treatment and prevention, you can start treatment with NexGard Combo at any time of the year. Administer NexGard Combo all year round at monthly intervals or begin at least one month before fleas or ticks become active. To treat and control roundworms, hookworms, and tapeworms, administer NexGard Combo once in a single dose. Monthly use of the medicine will control subsequent infections. This drug is not for human use. Wash your hands immediately after applying the medicine. Avoid direct contact with the application site for 4 hours or until visibly dry. NexGard Combi is a mild to moderate eye irritant. If it accidentally gets into your eyes, rinse thoroughly with water. If you are wearing contact lenses, flush the eyes first with water, remove the lenses, and continue to flush thoroughly with water. This medicine should be used only in cats and kittens older than 8 weeks and weighing at least 1.8 lbs (0.8 kg). Store this drug at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
