Natazia (Estradiol Valerate/Dienogest) is a combination prescription medication that is used to prevent pregnancy. This medication belongs to the class of drugs called contraceptives. It works by preventing ovulation during your menstrual cycle. It also makes the fluid thicker to help prevent fertilization and changes the lining of the uterus to prevent attachment of a fertilized egg. Natazia may also make your periods more regular, decrease blood loss and painful periods, decrease your risk of ovarian cysts and treats acne. This medication does not protect your or your partner against sexually transmitted diseases.

The common side effects of Natazia may include abdominal cramps or bloating, breast tenderness, headache, nausea, swelling of ankles or feet, vomiting and weight change.
Inform your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Dark urine;
• Lump in your breast;
• Mental or mood changes;
• Severe stomach abdominal or pelvic pain;
• Sudden heavy bleeding;
• Unusual changes in vaginal bleeding;
• Unusual tiredness;
• Yellowing eyes or skin

Talk to your doctor before breast-feeding a baby.
