Mydriacyl Eye Drops (Tropicamide) is a prescription eye medication used to widen the pupil of the eye to prepare for certain eye examinations. Tropicamide belongs to the class of drugs known as antichlolinergics. This medication works by relaxing certain eye muscles.

Do not refrigerate this medication. Prevent it from freezing. Keep this medication tightly closed and avoid excessive heat.

The common side effects of Mydriacyl eye drops may include dry mouth, eye sensitivity to light, eye stinging and temporary blurred vision.

Inform your doctor or get medical help right away if you have any of the unlikely but serious side effects such as:

• Eye pain, swelling or redness;
• Fast heartbeat;
• Feeling as if something is in the eye;
• Mental or mood changes;
• Muscle stiffness;
• Vision loss

Your vision may be temporarily blurred after you apply this medication. Do not drive, use machinery or do any activity that requires a clear vision until you are sure you can perform such activities safely. Mydriacyl eye drops may make your eyes more sensitive to light. Protect your eyes in bright light and use dark sunglasses when outdoors. This medication should not only be used during pregnancy unless it is clearly needed. It is unknown if this medication passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breast-feeding.
