Mirvaso gel (Brimonidine Tartrate) topical gel is a prescription medication used to treat facial redness due to Rosacea in adults 18 years of age and older. Brimonidine belongs to a class of medications known as alpha agonists. This medication works by narrowing the blood vessels to reduce redness and lasts up to 12 hours. Mirvaso is applied once daily.

Common side effects include:
• Burning sensation of the skin;
• Flushing;
• Redness;
• Skin irritation
Less common side effects include:
• Blurred vision;
• Fever;
• Headache;
• Muscle aches;
• Stuffy or runny nose;
• Unusual tiredness or weakness
Do not use Brimonidine if you are allergic to it or to apraclonidine or if you have any other allergies. This medication may contain inactive ingredients (such as phenoxyethanol) which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Before you start using this medication, inform your doctor about your medical history and about all the medications you are currently taking including OTC and herbal medications. There may be an interaction between Mirvaso and other medications such as beta blockers, anti-hypertensives, cardiac glycosides, alcohol, sedatives, anesthetics, or monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors. It is unknown if Mirvaso gel will harm an unborn baby or if it passes into your breast milk. Talk to your doctor if you are breast-feeding your baby.
