Manerix is an antidepressant and is used to treat the symptoms of depression in adults 18 years and older. It is a short-acting antidepressant and belongs to the class of drugs known as Reverse Inhibitor of Monoamine Oxidase-type A (RIMA). This medication inhibits the imbalance of certain chemicals in the brain by increasing their concentrations which contributes to its antidepressant activity.

The generic form of Manerix is Moclobemide. It comes from Canada. It may come from other international countries. The generic form of Manerix (Moclobemide) is available as tablets in the dosage forms of 100 mg 150 mg and 300 mg.
Stop taking Manerix and call your doctor at once if you have one of these serious side effects:
• Allergic reaction
• Changes in eyesight
• Diarrhea
• Constipation
• Not enough sodium in the blood causing confusion, seizures or disorientation
• New or worsened emotional or behavioral problems.
Less serious side effects include insomnia, dizziness, headache and nausea. Call your doctor immediately in case of one or combination of the side effects such as severe throbbing headache which starts at the back of the head and radiates forward, neck stiffness, fast or slow heartbeat. Please call your doctor if you have any further concerns or questions.
Take Manerix exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The recommended starting dose of Manerix is 300 mg/day (150 mg tablet twice a day). Your doctor may recommend to increase the dose to a maximum of 600 mg /day (300 mg tablet twice a day). Manerix should always be taken after meals. Manerix should be swallowed whole with water. Manerix tablets should not be split, crushed, chewed or dissolved as this can destroy it or change its effects. Do not take more of it, do not take it more often, and do not take it for a longer time than your doctor recommended. It is very important that you do not stop taking Manerix as soon as you start to feel feeling better. Discuss with your doctor how long drug treatment should continue, especially if you have had more than one episode of depression. Do not take Manerix if you are allergic to Moclobemide or any other ingredients in the medication, suffer from a mental problem that makes you confused, lose contact with reality or unable to think or judge clearly or have a tumor of adrenal gland.
