Lynparza (Olaparib) is a prescription medication that is used for the treatment of ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer or primary peritoneal cancer that has come back. Olaparib belongs to the group of medications called antineoplastics (cancer medicines). It is a chemotherapy medication that works by slowing the growth of cancer cells. This medication is used in patients who have received complete or partial treatment with plantinum-based cancer medications. It is also used for the treatment of HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer in patients who have already been treated with other cancer medications. Take Lynparza exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

The following side effects may occur but go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medication:
• Back pain;
• Blurred vision;
• Diarrhea;
• Headache;
• Heartburn;
• Lack or loss of strength;
• Weakness in the arms, hands, legs or feet
Check with your doctor immediately if you have any of the following side effects including chest pain, chills, cough, fever, sore throat, troubled breathing with exertion, unusual bleeding or bruising and unusual tiredness or weakness.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant because this medication may harm an unborn baby. It is unknown if this medication passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before you breast-feed.
