Lodine (Etodolac) is a prescription medication used to treat mild to moderate pain resulting from osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. Arthritis is the inflammation of one or more of the joints, resulting in pain and stiffness. This condition is quite common in older people as it can worsen with age. The active ingredient in Lodine is Etodolac. Etodolac belongs to a class of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by reducing the hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body.

We currently offer the generic Etodolac from India in the strength of 200 mg, 300 mg, and 400 mg (Toldin by Torrent) tablets. The brand Lodine is not available.
Get medical help immediately if you have any of these signs or an allergic reaction while using Lodine. The most common side effects of Lodine may include the following:
• Diarrhea;
• Drowsiness;
• Nausea;
• Stomach upset;
• Weakness
Contact your doctor right away if you have any of the severe side effects, including:v
• Changes in your hearing;
• Easy bruising or bleeding;
• Mood changes;
• Painful swallowing
These are not all of the side effects of Lodine. Always contact your doctor if you notice any unusual symptoms.
You should not use Lodine if you are allergic to Etodolac or any ingredient in Lodine. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, especially if you:
• Are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed;
• Are pregnant or planning to be pregnant;
• Have asthma;
• Have blood disorders;
• Have heart disease;
• Have high blood pressure;
• Have liver disease;
• Have nasal polyps;
• Have stomach problems
Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be drug interactions between Lodine and other medicines, like losartan, lisinopril, furosemide, prednisone, cidofovir, methotrexate, warfarin, etc. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Taking Lodine during the last 20 weeks of your pregnancy may cause serious heart or kidney problems in your unborn baby and possible complications with your pregnancy. It is unknown if Etodolac passes into breast milk or if it may affect a nursing infant. Do not breastfeed while using this medicine. Use this medicine exactly as your doctor prescribes. Lodine is a tablet. Swallow the tablets whole with water, and do not crush or chew. It may take up to two weeks for your symptoms to improve. Do not stop using this drug without talking to your doctor. You may need frequent medical tests if you are using Lodine long-term. Avoid drinking alcohol when using this drug. Alcohol can increase your risk of stomach bleeding. Ask your doctor before using antacids. Some antacids make it difficult for your body to absorb Lodine. Drink plenty of fluids when using this drug to prevent dehydration. Lodine may make you dizzy. Do not drive or use machinery when using this drug until you can do it safely. Store this drug at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
