Lamisil (Terbinafine) is an antifungal medication that is used to treat infections that is caused by
fungus that affect the skin and fingernails or toenails. This medications works by interfering with the ability of fungi to make chemicals called sterols that are an important part of the membrane that surrounds fungal cells and holds them together. Terbinafine weakens the cell membrane.

Common side effects include:

• Nausea
Serious side effects include:
• Difficulty swallowing;
• Joints and muscle aches;
• Pale skin;
• Skin rash or itching;
• Stomach ache;
• Vomiting
You should not use Lamisil if you are allergic to Terbinafine. Before you start taking this medication, inform your doctor about all the medications you are currently taking including OTC and herbal medications. This medication is not harmful to an unborn baby, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Terbinafine can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. Do not breast-feed while you are using this medication. There may be an interaction between Terbinafine and other medications such as amiodarone, metoprolol, itraconazole, tamoxifen, warfarin, etc.
