Isentress (Raltegravir) is a prescription medication that is used to in combination with other antiretroviral medications to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection in adults. Raltegravir belongs to the group of medications called antiretroviral drugs that prevent HIV from multiplying in your body. It is known as an integrase inhibitor. It blocks the virus from growing and infecting more cells. This medication is not a cure for HIV infection. This medication is taken by mouth with or without food usually once or twice daily as directed by your doctor.
