Hyderm Cream (Hydrocortisone) is a topical prescription cream used for temporary relief of minor skin irritations such as itching and rashes due to a variety of conditions, such as eczema, dermatitis, insect bites, poison ivy, poison oak, detergents, cosmetics, and jewellery. It is also an effective topical medication for treating low cortisol levels caused by diseases of the adrenal gland such as Addison's disease, adrenocortical insufficiency. The active ingredient in Hyderm cream is Hydrocortisone. Hydrocortisone belongs to the class of medication called corticosteroids. It works by reducing redness, itching, and inflammation.

Get medical help immediately if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction while taking Hyderm Cream. The most common side effects of Hyderm Cream may include:
• Acne formation;
• Changes in skin color;
• Folliculitis;
• Skin itching;
• Stretch marks or skin striae;
• Thinning of the skin causing easy bruising

Contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects including:
• Severe skin striae;
• Severe tearing of the skin due to skin atrophy;
• Skin bleaching or noticed changes in the skin color

You should tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to hydrocortisone, any other medications, or any of the ingredients in hydrocortisone topical products. Hyderm cream should be used on the skin only. Do not apply the hydrocortisone cream to an open wound or infected skin. Apply a small amount of Hyderm cream to the affected area and gently rub in, usually up to 4 times a day or as directed by your doctor. Do not bandage or otherwise wrap the skin being treated unless directed to do so by your doctor. You should wash your hands after applying the cream. Before you start taking this medication, tell your doctors about your medical history especially if you:
• Are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed;
• Are pregnant or plan to become pregnant;
• Have certain viral infections such as herpes simplex, chickenpox, or vaccinia;
• Have diabetes mellitus;
• Have lung or breathing problems;
• Have untreated tuberculosis, fungal, or bacterial infections of the skin

Tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant. During pregnancy, it is unknown if Hyderm cream is harmful to the fetus. You should discuss with your doctor before using it in pregnancy or while breastfeeding a baby. Tell your doctor about all the medications you take including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between hydrocortisone and other medications such as, mifepristone, clopidogrel, ibuprofen, naproxen, anticoagulant such as warfarin and dabigatran. Store this medication at room temperature, protect it from light and moisture, and keep it out of the reach of children.
