Holkira Pak (ombitasvir – paritaprevir – dasabuvir – ritonavir) is a combination of antivirals commonly used alone or in combination with ribavirin to treat chronic hepatitis C, a viral infection of the liver. Ombitasvir, paritaprevir, and dasabuvir directly interfere with the replication of the hepatitis virus, while ritonavir acts only to improve the oral absorption of paritaprevir. The actions of ombitasvir, paritaprevir, and dasabuvir are based on the reduction of hepatitis C virus levels in the body, which aids in the immune system's ability to combat the infection and may aid in liver recovery. Ritonavir is used to raise (or "boost") paritaprevir levels. Holkira Pak does not prevent transmission of the hepatitis C virus through sexual intercourse, or blood contamination, neither does it protect a patient from reinfection with the virus. The product typically contains two tablets: One containing ombitasvir, paritaprevir, and ritonavir, and the other tablet containing dasabuvir.
