Grastek (Timothy Grass Pollen Allergen Extract) is prescription medication used to treat Timothy (Phleum pratense) and related grass pollen allergies in patients.aged 5 to 65 years. It is an extract of certain plant pollens that used to relieve symptoms such as cough, itching/watery eyes, runny/stuffy nose, or sneezing cause your allergies. It works by making the body less sensitive to the pollens (such as grasses, ragweed) that cause the allergies. It should NOT be used for the immediate relief of allergic symptoms.
The first Grastek should only be taken in the doctor’s office. After taking the first dose, you or your child must retain in the doctor’s office for additional 30 minutes. The drug should be initiated 12 weeks before and throughout the season. Your children should take Grastek under adult supervision. Take exactly as prescribed.
