Galexos (Simeprevir) is a prescription medication used to treat chronic hepatitis C and hepatitis B infections. Hepatitis is a viral infection that affects the liver cells (hepatocytes) and impairs liver function. The active ingredient in Galexos is Simeprevir. Simeprevir belongs to the class of medications called protease inhibitors. Protease is an enzyme that is needed by viruses for reproduction. Galexos works by blocking the action of protease, slowing the growth of the virus.
