Evista (Raloxifene) is used to treat and prevent osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. It is also used to reduce the risk of invasive breast cancer in postmenopausal women who have osteoporosis or who are at risk of invasive breast cancer. Raloxifene belongs to a family of medications called selective estrogen receptor modifiers (SERMs). Evista works by slowing the breakdown of bone and promoting the building of new bone.
