Eurax (crotamiton) is a topical cream used to treat certain infections of the skin such as scabies, and to reduce itching associated with certain skin conditions. Eurax belongs to a class or medications called scabicide and antipruritic medications (anti-itching medication), and works to treat scabies infections by killing the mites that cause scabies.

Using Eurax will not prevent you from passing scabies to other people. Avoid sexual or intimate contact until the infestation is cleared up. Also avoid sharing hair combs, hair accessories, hats, clothing, bed linens, and other articles of personal use. This medication is not approved for use by anyone younger than 18 years old. Eurax is not expected to interact with any medications. Tell your doctor about any medications (topical or oral), vitamins, or herbal supplements you are currently taking or have recently taken in order to reduce the risk of any possible interactions. This medication is typically used as two doses, 24 hours apart. Do not use this medication in larger or smaller amounts, or for longer than recommended. Call your doctor if you still have itching 2 to 4 weeks after you finish treatment for scabies.
