Epiduo Gel (Benzoyl Peroxide/Adapalene) is used to treat severe acne. Benzoyl Peroxide belongs to the class of drugs known as macrolide antibiotics and it works by treating and preventing acne by killing bacteria. It also has a mild drying effect, which allows excess oils and dirt to be easily washed away from the skin. Adapalene belongs to the class of medications called retinoids and it works by affecting the growth of cells and decreasing swelling and inflammation. The Epiduo gel helps the skin to renew itself.
