Envarsus XR (Tacrolimus Extended-release Tablets) is prescription medication used with other medicines to help prevent organ rejection in patients who have had a kidney transplant. Tacrolimus belongs to a class of drugs called immunosuppressants that works by preventing your body from attacking the transplanted organ. It is taken only 1 time per day usually in the morning with an empty stomach. Take Envarsus XR exactly as prescribed.
Envarsus XR Extended-release Tablets are not interchangeable or substitutable with other Tacrolimus products.

We now supply the brand Envarsus XR also called Envarsus PR comes from the United Kingdom manufactured by Chiesi Ltd. Envarsus XR is available in three strengths: 0.75 mg, 1 mg, and 4 mg tablet. There is currently no generic equivalent for Envarsus XR.
The most common side effects of Envarsus XR include:
• Constipation;
• Diarrhea;
• Headache;
• Nauseas;
• Insomnia;
• Stomach pain;
• Weakness;
If you suffer any serious side effects as below, please notify your doctor or pharmacist immediately.
• Chest pain or fainting;
• Chills or fever;
• Confusion;
• Cough or flu-like symptoms;
• General sick feeling, pain or swelling near the transplanted organ;
• Muscle tremors and numbness;
• Signs of infections;
• Seizures;
• Sweats;
• Urination problems;
• Vision changes;
Do not take Envarsus XR if you are allergic to Tacrolimus or any ingredients in this medication. Tell your doctor about all the medical conditions you have had before.
• Heart disease;
• High blood pressure;
• High cholesterol or triglycerides levels;
• Kidney or liver disease;
• Plan to receive any live vaccines;
Your doctor may do certain tests to check for diabetes or kidney function while you take Envarsus XR. Tell your doctor about all the medicines you are taking including prescriptions and over-the-counter medicines including herbal supplements. Especially: heart medications, and other medications that can weaken your immune system. This may change how your medications work or increase the risk for serious side effects. If you can become pregnant, use the effective contraceptive during and for 5 weeks after treatment with Envarsus XR.
