Emo cort (Hydrocortisone) is a prescription medication used to temporarily relieve minor skin irritations caused by eczema, dermatitis, insect bites, soaps, detergents, or cosmetics. The drug also relieves itching and rashes from poison ivy, oak, or jewelry. Emo cort is a topical medicine and should only be applied on the skin. The active ingredient in Emo cort is Hydrocortisone. Hydrocortisone belongs to a class of drugs called corticosteroids. It works by reducing redness, itching, and inflammation.

Get medical help immediately if you have any of these signs or an allergic reaction while using Emo cort. The most common side effects of Emo cort may include the following:
• Burning or irritation of the skin;
• Skin rash
Contact your doctor right away if you have any of the severe side effects, including:
• Acne;
• Increased skin sensitivity;
• Painful, pus-containing blisters in hair follicles;
• Signs of an allergic reaction, including swelling of the face, throat, or mouth, breathing difficulties, severe skin rash;
• Skin thinning;
• Stretch marks;
• Unintended weight gain
These are not all of the side effects of Emo cort. Always contact your doctor if you notice any unusual symptoms.
You should not use Emo cort if you are allergic to Hydrocortisone or any ingredient in Emo cort. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, especially if you:
• Are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed;
• Are pregnant or planning to be pregnant;
• Have tuberculosis;
• Have untreated bacterial or fungal skin infections;
• Have viral infections like chickenpox or herpes simplex
Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be drug interactions between Emo cort and other topical medicines. Avoid aldesleukin or calcipotriol with Emo cort. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Topical medicines like Emo cort should not affect a pregnancy. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed. Hydrocortisone should not have adverse reactions in breastfed infants. Use Emo cort precisely as prescribed by your doctor. This drug is a topical medication and should be used only on the skin. Apply a thin layer of Emo cort to the affected area 1 to 2 times daily and rub it in. Wash your hands after applying the drug. Do not cover the treated area with a bandage or dressings unless your doctor tells you otherwise. Be careful when applying Emo cort to lesions near the eye. This drug can irritate the eyes and may cause glaucoma or cataracts. Keep this drug and all medicines out of the sight and reach of children. Store at room temperature, away from light and moisture.
