Edurant (Rilpivirine) is an antiviral medication that is used to treat HIV and AIDS. Rilpivirine belongs to a class of medications called non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NNRTIs). Reverse transcriptase is an enzyme that is needed by HIV for reproduction. Rilpivirine blocks the action of this enzyme. This medication must be used in combination with other medications to treat HIV infections.
