Dovato (Dolutegravir Sodium/ Lamivudine) is a prescription medication used to treat HIV infection in adults. Dovato is a complete regimen for the treatment of HIV infection and should not be used with other HIV medicines. Dolutegravir belongs to the class of drugs known as integrase inhibitors and it works by decreasing the amount of HIV in your blood and increases the number of immune cells that help fight infections in your body. Lamivudine belongs to a class of drugs known as nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs) and works by decreasing the amount of HIV and hepatitis B in the blood. The adult dose for HIV infection is one tablet once a day.
