Dermatop (Prednicarbate) is a prescription medication used to treat skin conditions, including eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, rash, and allergies. This drug reduces swelling, redness, and itching associated with these skin conditions. The active ingredient in Dermatop is Prednicarbate. Prednicarbate belongs to the class of medications called topical corticosteroids. It works by constricting the capillaries and reducing inflammation, swelling and itching of the skin.

Get medical help immediately if you have any of these signs or an allergic reaction while using Dermatop. The most common side effects of Dermatop may include the following:
• Burning sensation;
• Dry skin;
• Itching;
• Skin redness;
• Stinging sensation

Contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects, including:
• Acne;
• Breathing or swallowing difficulties;
• Hair bumps;
• Skin discoloration or thinning;
• Stretch marks;
• Swelling of face, mouth, lips, tongue, or throat

You should use this medication during pregnancy only if the benefits outweigh the risks. It is unknown if Dermatop passes into breast milk. Prednicarbate may harm the unborn baby. Do not breastfeed during treatment. Do not apply Dermatop on cuts, scrapes, or damaged skin. Prednicarbate can damage latex products like condoms or diaphragms. Do not take Dermatop by mouth. Apply on the skin only. Wash your hands before and after using this ointment. Use Dermatop and all medicines exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop using this medication even if your symptoms improve without consulting your doctor. You can apply a missed dose as soon as you remember, except if it is almost time for your next dose. Do not apply a double dose to make up for the missed dose. In case of an overdose, talk to your doctor immediately. Keep Prednicarbate out of reach and sight of children. Store at room temperature.
